Hi! My name is Angelique, I live in S.Korea and I will be writing on this blog about my experiences and life in Korea.
Before arriving
I was planning to travel the world for years and while I was studying countries and cultures I fell in love with Korea. It seemed to be a very safe place, with good people with good education and manners, and I was not wrong. This country is amazing.
While I was a university student I search for all the ways possible to live in Korea. I didn't want it to be just a pleasure travel. I wanted to live here and experience the culture and life.
I found these options:
1. Finish my studies in Korea.
2. The TaLK program
3. The EPIK program
4. Hagwon
5. Get married with the person who was my bf for 3 years and who was in the army and they were going to send him here... Haha
Option 5 was very convincing at that time haha but it was a total fail!
So I opt for the hard ones:
Options and thoughts:
1. It wasn't very convincing to live far without any income.
2. The talk program locates you in rural areas only.
3. EPIK 100% convincing but very competitive for someone without experience.
4. Hagwon yay! But scary.
5. FAIL! Haha
And the adventure began!
The interviews, the process, the paperwork, the visa, woohoo!!
(If you want a detailed blog about the process please request it in the comments)
To make it short, I had 4 interviews in which I passed two. Yay me!
One was in Incheon and the other one in Seoul. Guess which one o chose?, well, seoul of course.
I will never regret my decision!
My hagwon is wonderful, my apartment is expectacular and my life in Seoul is fantastic!
